Yesterday there was a workshop today to decorate cans for our annual "Share the Beauty," in which we make fresh floral arrangements in the decorated cans to give to over 600 recipients, shut ins, veterans, nursing homes.

Ladies met at the Garden Center with from various organizations and in four hours they made over 300 decorated cans. Their goal is to have 650 ready before Share the Beauty in early June.

More than 25 volunteers participated in the Share The Beauty event on Monday, June 3rd at the Albuquerque Garden Center, and it was a fantastic experience! Decorated cans were used for the flowers, thanks to the generosity of Trader Joe's on Paseo and Albertsons at Academy and Tramway. The group successfully crafted over 660 floral arrangements, which were then distributed to the National Guard, as well as 6 retirement and assisted living centers. The day was both fulfilling and enjoyable!

The recipients expressed overwhelming gratitude!

"National Garden Week is here, and the Council of Albuquerque Garden Clubs is commencing the celebration with our cherished Share The Beauty Day!

For more than three decades, this tradition has united our community. Members from various dedicated groups such as Master Gardeners, Petal Pushers, High Desert Design, Rose Society, Aril & Iris, Uptown, and Valley clubs come together to create stunning floral arrangements; delivered to bring joy to local veterans, senior centers, assisted living facilities, and long-term care homes.

This heartwarming gesture is a wonderful way to mark National Garden Week and spread the beauty of flowers to those who would truly appreciate them.
